Otherwise, after the expiration of the 15-day time period from your receipt of this notice, your child will no longer be a special education student and will instead be considered a general education student for all purposes. After that time, you must submit a written request for an initial evaluation in order to seek to have your child determined a student eligible for special education and related services. No services may be provided to your child until an initial evaluation is performed and, if he/she is determined eligible, an individualized education program (IEP) is developed and implemented.
