New Jersey workers, learners, and educational providers can now visit the website, an online resource designed to connect residents, training providers, and employers with Workforce Pell, a new federal program that offers financial aid for career-focused short term job training programs.
In July 2025, Congress established Workforce Pell, which extends Pell Grants to cover short-term workforce training programs by accredited providers. Congress set forth program and performance standards that programs must meet to qualify for participation and charged the Governor of each state with determining which programs met those standards, which are then recommended for final approval by the U.S. Department of Education. Provider participation in Workforce Pell is projected to grow significantly over the next several years, offering financial aid in skilled occupations across the labor market, such as patient care technicians, welders, and HVAC specialists.
