Vessel Registration

vessel-registration
New Jersey law requires all power vessels, regardless of length, to be registered

The New Jersey State Police will be looking for valid registration decals.

If you operate your vessel in New Jersey for more than 180 consecutive days, you are required to register your vessel in the State.

If the hailing port of a documented vessel is in New Jersey, the vessel must be registered. These efforts ensure that vessels operating within New Jersey waters are properly registered, which helps with law enforcement with safety measures on the water.

An unregistered vessel will result in a summons with a mandatory court hearing and immediate termination of your voyage.

If your boat is not registered, you will need to make an appointment at your local New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Agency, NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.
