JOIN THE NEW JERSEY STATE POLICE FAMILY
Blackwood, Camden County, N.J. – Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa and State Police Superintendent Colonel Joseph R. Fuentes today announced the dates for the opening of the New Jersey State Police application process. Applications will be accepted online from May 7th through May 29th. Interested men and women should visit to complete the online application.
The Attorney General and Superintendent made the announcement at Camden County College in Blackwood. Today’s trooper can create a personalized career path by focusing on individual skills and areas of personal interest, while also working to ensure the public’s safety.
“From community policing to homeland security, aviation to marine law enforcement, crime scene forensics to cyber investigations, the New Jersey State Police has a specialty area that is sure to suit an applicant’s unique skills and interests,” said Attorney General Chiesa. “We are looking for bright, energetic men and women who have demonstrated responsibility and character and are up to the challenge to be their best.”
“The public safety missions of the State Police continue to evolve, and we need troopers with fresh perspectives and diverse skills to help us meet the challenges of the future,” said Colonel Rick Fuentes.

Here are the minimum requirements to apply:
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and must not reach their 35th birthday prior to the graduation of their State Police class.
- Applicants must have: (1) a bachelor's degree; OR (2) a minimum of 90 college credits currently and complete their degree by a specified date prior to the written examination; OR (3) an associate's degree or 60 college credits, PLUS at least 24 months of satisfactory employment or military experience; OR (4) 30 college credits, PLUS at least 24 months of active duty military service with an honorable discharge.
The New Jersey State Police have not accepted applications since February 2010. All eligible men and women should take advantage of this opportunity.
