Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash On State Highway 55
Franklin Township, N.J. - On Tuesday, June 03, 2014, at 6:12 a.m., troopers from Bellmawr Station responded to State Highway 55 at milepost 40, for a one car motor vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Chevrolet van was traveling in the northbound lane of State Highway 55. For reasons that are still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a tree.
As a result of the crash, two individuals are confirmed deceased. One person was pronounced at the scene. The remaining injured were flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J. A second person was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Only the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
