Interstate 80 Homicide Investigation Update
State Police Seeks Public’s Help With Investigation
Saddle Brook, N.J. – Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit are seeking the public’s assistance with the homicide investigation of Jeff Mansilla, 39, of Hackensack, N.J.
On Thursday, June 12, 2013, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Jeff Mansilla, a self-employed livery driver, left the Wet Gentleman’s Club in Bellville, N.J. with a customer from the club and an acquaintance who was already present in the car prior to the pick-up.
Mansilla and the two passengers were traveling to Hackensack, N.J. in his black 2013 GMC Yukon. At approximately 2:10 a.m., while driving eastbound on Interstate 80 in the area of milepost 63, gunshots were fired into the driver’s side door of the Yukon, striking Mansilla.
After being shot, Mansilla was able to drive the vehicle off of the roadway and switch positions with his acquaintance. The acquaintance subsequently drove to Hackensack University Hospital with Mansilla in the front, passenger seat. Mansilla was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
