Suspicious Road Block on the New Jersey Turnpike
Jersey City, N.J. – The video showing a suspicious road block on the New Jersey Turnpike has sparked a number of questions and concerns. Here’s the scoop:
On Monday, November 3, just after midnight, troopers received calls about a disabled vehicle on the side of the Newark Bay Extension in Jersey City. When troopers arrived, the two occupants from the car were near their green Chevrolet Lumina. The driver of the vehicle, Kareem Walston, 37, of Orange, was found to be under the influence and charged accordingly. His passenger, Hashen Clark, 36, of Jersey City, was charged with hindering and found to have an active warrant.
Troopers discovered that the vehicle had run out of gas. Troopers believe that the subjects may have tried an inappropriate and dangerous way to get help. The incident is still under investigation and further charges are possible.
Motorists encountering suspicious and dangerous situations such as this, are encouraged to leave the scene as safely as they can and immediately report the incident to 9-1-1.
