NJSP Seeking Volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams

The New Jersey State Police Totowa Station and the Passaic County Women’s Center are seeking volunteers for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Teams in Passaic County.

Volunteer advocates work in conjunction with police, county prosecutor’s offices, and private organizations to provide support, information, referrals, and a safety plan to victims of domestic violence.

Volunteers must attend a free 65-hour training course, possess a valid driver’s license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to background investigations and fingerprinting. Applications are currently being accepted for a 10 week training to begin on January 5, 2015.
