Hero Trooper Rescues Unconscious Woman from Burning House
Franklin Township, N.J. – A New Jersey State Trooper risked life and limb when he rushed into a burning home to rescue an unconscious woman.
On Wednesday, November 5, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Trooper Tyler Dalrymple of Troop “B” Washington Station was on patrol on Asbury-Broadway Road when he was flagged down by a man standing in the roadway. The witness told the trooper that his friend might be inside of the burning home.
Without any protective gear, Trooper Dalrymple immediately entered the residence through the unlocked front door and searched the smoke-filled house for occupants. Inside, he found unconscious resident Nancy Geiser, 46, in a second-floor bedroom and carried her from the house to safety.
Franklin Township Fire Department responded and contained the fire. At this time, investigators have noted nothing suspicious, and the cause is still under investigation. No injuries were reported, and both the trooper and victim were assessed by Franklin Township EMS.
