Man Charged with Assault by Auto and DWI
After Fleeing Car Crash
Bloomsbury Borough, N.J. – Troopers from Perryville Station arrested Starlin Concepcion, 26, of Bronx, N.Y. after he fled a single-car crash that injured two of his passengers.
On Saturday, November 8, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Concepcion was driving a 1998 Honda Civic westbound in the center lane of Interstate 78 when he lost control of his car. After striking the center guiderail, the vehicle overturned, ending up on the right side of the roadway.
When responding troopers arrived, they learned that Concepcion fled on foot, leaving Jeremiah Torres, 18, of Bronx, N.Y. and a juvenile both injured and still inside the car. Investigators also found crack cocaine and marijuana inside of the vehicle while they were conducting their investigation.
Concepcion was quickly located in the restroom of the Travel Center of America, which is located near the crash scene. He was arrested without incident and transported to Perryville Station to be processed.
Starlin Concepcion was charged with assault by auto, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, hindering apprehension, and DWI. He was lodged at Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Charges are mere accusations and the accused is innocent until proven guilty.
