State Police Seeking Volunteers For Sexual Assault Response and Domestic Violence Response Teams
The New Jersey State Police, Resource Center of Somerset, and Zufall Health are seeking volunteers for the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Response Teams in Somerset County.
Volunteer advocates work in conjunction with police, county prosecutor’s offices, and private organizations to provide support, information, referrals, and a safety plan to victims of domestic violence.
Volunteers must attend a free training course, possess a valid driver’s license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to background investigations and fingerprinting. Specialized training begins spring 2015.
