New Jersey State Police To Conduct DWI Checkpoint in Monmouth County
Wall Township, N.J. - On Wednesday, November 26, 2014, the New Jersey State Police will conduct a
DWI sobriety checkpoint on the Garden State Parkway North bound at entrance 98. Motorists can expect delays while
this initiative is being conducted.
In the last three years, the Garden State Parkway, from mile markers 98-115, has seen 25 alcohol involved
accidents with numerous injuries as well as 5 fatalities. Data also shows that over a thousand DWI arrests have
been made in the same vicinity from 2012 to September 2014.
Enhanced DWI enforcement on the Garden State Parkway will serve as a deterrent to people who may be inclined
to take the wheel after having too much to drink. Keeping these individuals off the road will reduce the overall
number of crashes in the area.
Troopers will be looking for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs. If you plan on drinking do not drive
and make sure to always have a designated driver.
