Teaneck Township, N.J. – Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Trafficking North Unit, and members from the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force Group T-42 (NYDETF), arrested Miguel Armenta-Villa, 25, of Bakersfield, California and seized 22 kilograms of heroin as the result of an investigation that spanned three weeks.
On Friday, September 4, State Police detectives, along with members of NYDETF, which is comprised of agents from the U.S. DEA, New York Police Department, and New York State Police, with additional assistance from Bergen County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, arrested Miguel Armenta-Villa at 620 Bryant Avenue. Detectives subsequently searched the residence and seized 22 kilograms of heroin, which equates to 1.1 million decks with a street value of $3.5 to $5 million. A deck is considered a single dosage of heroin.
Miguel Armenta-Villa was charged with possession of heroin (1st degree), and possession with intent to distribute (1st degree). He was lodged at Bergen County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail with no 10 percent option. This case will be prosecuted by the Division of Criminal Justice in the Office of the Attorney General.
Charges are mere accusations and the suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty.
