Lodi, N.J. - Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Major Crime North Unit (MCNU) and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office have linked Kenneth Regan, 21, of Centereach, N.Y. and Douglas Coudrey, 22, of Eastport, N.Y. to a homicide that occurred in Nassau County, N.Y. last month. Justin Gottlieb, 27, of Plainview, N.Y., was shot and killed on January 14, 2020.
On Wednesday, January 22, Regan and Coudrey were arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and weapons offenses for the shooting death of Luis Perez, 27, of New York, N.Y., which occurred January 18, 2020 on Interstate 80 in Lodi Borough, Bergen County.
During the Perez homicide investigation, detectives obtained several items of evidence connecting Regan and Coudrey to the Gottlieb homicide. MCNU detectives provided Nassau County homicide detectives with the evidence, which was presented to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. As a result, the District Attorney’s Office authorized murder and weapons offense charges against Regan and Coudrey in the homicide of Justin Gottlieb.
Kenneth Regan and Douglas Coudrey remain lodged at the Bergen County Jail.
Charges are mere accusations, and the suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
