State Police and Partners Capture Four Fugitives Wanted for Violent Crimes in Paterson
Two Men Wanted in Connection to Recent Shootings
Paterson, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit coordinated a joint fugitive sweep initiative that led to the arrest of four fugitives wanted for various crimes, including two recent shooting incidents in Paterson. Three of the men were identified as street gang members.
During this on-going initiative, detectives with the Fugitive Unit worked with members of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and Paterson Police Department to target recidivist violent offenders. Suspects were identified for their involvement in recent violent criminal activity within Paterson.
On Friday, July 31, detectives with the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, Street Gangs & Organized Crime North Unit, along with members of the State Police K-9 Unit, United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, New Jersey State Parole Board, Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Paterson Police Department Ceasefire Unit and Paterson Police Department Warrant Squad, conducted the sweep in Paterson. As a result of the operation, the following suspects were arrested:
Warlin Castillo, 19, of Paterson, N.J.
- Wanted for robbery and allegedly shooting a man in Paterson on July 11. Castillo is a known Trinatarios gang member.
Rhajhson Hawkins, 19, of Paterson, N.J.
- Wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in Paterson on July 11. Hawkins is a known Crips gang member.
Eugeonce Coleman, 28, of Paterson, N.J.
- Wanted for committing various crimes in Paterson. Coleman is a known Bloods gang member.
Larry Cox, 55, of Paterson, N.J.
- Wanted by the New Jersey State Parole Board for parole violation.
“Operations like these play a critical role in diminishing violent crimes by targeting recidivist violent offenders who recklessly endanger the safety of our residents,” said Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. “We are committed to working with our partners to seek out and remove violent offenders from the streets of Paterson.”
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
