Cle Sloan and the Film, "Bastards of the Party" *
spacer

On July 18,2005,the staff and peers went to the New Jersey Forensic Technology Center in Hamilton, New Jersey. While down there, we watched a Film called "Bastards Of The Party", which not only showed us how Cle Sloan's lifestyle was as a gang member, but also how the gang banging lifestyle was established all over the world. The message of the movie showed how the two gangs, both "Bloods" and "Crips" were brought about from the Black Panthers and Ron Karenga's US Organization. After the film was completed, Cle "Bones" Sloan gave some very uplifting advice to the struggling youth. His words along with the movie were very encouraging and inspiring.

Rutgers Youth Summit*
spacer

On August 25,2005 Elizabeth Day Program went to Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ for the Youth Summit. The Youth Summit was about the choices you can make in life and how you can change them. The classes were very educational and I hope some people got the message. After all the classes, we went to lunch. The food was great! When lunch was over we went to watch the JJC American Idol winners perform. When the Idol winners finished performing we exited out of the building to go home. My peers said that they had fun on the trip and look forward to more like it.
