Amanda Reece joined the Office of the Ombudsman for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families in January 2024. Hired to fill the newly-created role of Constituent Relations Coordinator, she will serve as a source of information and referral for individuals and families, assist in the ongoing development of relationships with government entities and stakeholder groups, and support the Office鈥檚 outreach efforts.
Amanda is a Licensed Social Worker in the 星空无限传媒app, who attended Ramapo College of New Jersey for both her Bachelor鈥檚 and Master degrees in Social Work.
During her educational pursuits she had the opportunity to intern in various settings, including Bergen鈥檚 Promise, the Care Management Organization for Bergen County. While at Bergen鈥檚 Promise, Amanda worked with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families on a personal level, assessing their needs and planning strengths-based strategies. Additionally, Amanda interned within state government, where she collaborated with constituents and State Government departments to bring solutions to constituents facing unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence, and other obstacles that interfered with receiving State assistance. She primarily interfaced with the Department of Human Services remediating SNAP, NJ FamilyCare, Child Support, and General Assistance issues.
